Life Skills classes are no longer found in traditional secondary school curriculum. As teens graduate and move on to college, they are often left without a solid set of skills to truly be independent. There have been countless articles and books written on the topic of “adulting.”
We developed Skills4Life to address the need for a space where teenagers can learn the skills necessary to tackle the challenge of living on their own. Skills4Life gives your teen the opportunity to learn and ask questions from experts and develop the following skills:
Understanding Insurance - Why insurance is necessary, how DUIs, accidents and tickets affect car insurance and more!
Budgeting/Finances- budgeting, building credit, saving an emergency fund and more!
Job Hunting - how to apply for a job, write a resume, ace an interview and more!
Social Media Use - how to use social media responsibly, maintaining your privacy, online dating, effects on employment and more!
Personal Safety - rideshare safety, defensive techniques, emergency situations, basic CPR and Heimlich Maneuver and more!
Dating Responsibly - social cues, consent, safety issues, and more!
Staying Healthy - healthy meals, fun ways to exercise, importance of sleep, and more!
School Transitions - middle to high school and high school to college, time management and more!
